Forced marriages, my favorite koreanovela theme.

i have always been fond of watching korean dramas or koreanovelas because of the funny antics of the main characters, the catchy story lines, and its wholesome package. i started watching out for new koreanovelas after i watched Lovers in Paris years ago.

i have noticed in some of koreanovelas i have seen, they tend to have the "forced marriage" formula into the story. And i find myself putting these dramas with "forced marriage" on my favorite list of kdramas.

Sweet 18 is about the story of a high school student named Yoon Jung Sook (Han ji hye) who was bethroted to the prosecutor Kwon Hyuk Joon. They are both from 2 traditional clans, who planned their marriage to strengthen the relationship of those two clans.

Full House is about an aspiring writer, Han ji eun (Song hye kyo) who returned from China without knowing that her best friends sold her house. And the one who bought it was the superstar, Lee Young Jae (Rain). Since she has no assets left, she had a contract marriage with Lee Young jae so that she could still hold on to her house which is the only thing that her father left her.

Sassy girl chunhyang is the modern interpretation of the Legend of Chunhyang. It is about two high school students, Lee Mong ryong (Jae hee) and Sung Chun hyang (Han chae young) who were forced to marry each other because they spent a night with each other. They were still forced to marry each other even though nothing happened that night.

Princess Hours is about an ordinary high school girl, Shin Chae-gyung (Yoon eun hye) who found herself bethroted to the Crown prince of Korea, Shin (Joo ji hoon). Shin's grandfather (the king) and Chae-gyung's grandfather (a servant) formed a friendship, and because of that, they decided their grandchildren to marry each other. Their marriage also celebrated the friendship between their grandfathers.

Well..if you have seen these dramas, then you could relate with me..All of them are pretty much the same with the "forced marriage" as the main focus of the stories. if you think about it, here in the Philippines, i don't think forced marriage happens that much(except for the chinese community). i have not really get to meet a Filipino who is involved in a forced marriage.

these korean dramas attract me to watch them because i want to see how the characters would fall in love with each other. and because of that, my fondness for koreanovelas grew because of my interest in this "forced marriage" formula.

High heels that are too high!

Ordinary people like me, wear heels when the event calls for it, like formal functions or any event that would require you to be dolled up. But i found these photos of the Olsen twins from people.com, wearing really high heels. As you can see in the photos, they look like they were running domestic errands, wearing HIGH heels! lol

well, i don't know if i would admire or criticize these people from wearing those kind of shoes. I could admire them for being able to wear heels on a daily basis, not everyone could do that (I am one of those). But i could also criticize them for wearing those heels and trying to look tall! And do their heels look that good?

I am scared for both of them. One wrong step, and both of them are dead!

Ashley Olsen, Mary kate's twin, also wearing (very high) heels:

Here are additional photos of Hollywood celebs, Jennifer Lopez and Gwen Stefani, wearing 6-inches heels!
